FIRE DRILL!!!
It was half past nine when the most irritating sound went off...
It was the bloody fire alarm...
I got into my trousers and a jacket, paused the music I was listening to and strolled down to knock at doors of Princess and Snow White, they had hurried out at the first sound i guess because they weren’t in their rooms when I knocked...
I stepped out on the landing and I saw people walking half asleep, cursing, some stoic, others like me smiling and fully dressed...
Poor souls, some of them had just got out of the bed and were cursing as it was chilly outside and they were in various states of undress...
I was in a Fire drill... had read about it but I was a part of it and I didnt even think of taking my camera, it would have been a brilliant story to cover but I guess that’s the difference between a genius news reporter and me...
But the experience was something new... and humorous.

Me been thru various degrees of torture like fire drills ad other drills. its infuriating, especially coz it doesnt help when a real fire or sumthin like dat breaks out u know...especially in india, no amoun of training will beat the 'save my own ass first' shit out of people. come real fire, there has to be a stampede. and imagine if its a bomb scare in a mumbai local...me been thru dat...never ever again.
he he he!various states of undress, huh? London bridge was falling down, now it son fire, what with hot people staying there!! ;)
don´t worry about getting out of bed when the fire alarm goes off. i´ve found 2 pillows over the head drowns out the noise enough to either suffocate me before the fire does or stop the noise long enough for me to go back to sleep.
@Reema: it works well enough here. India is another story. Its the country of exceptions...
@Denaee: Ah! the mngmt won't be too delighted by that... but if you get your sleep then who has any say...
